TRANSPORT

Arriving by bus

Fast and frequent bus services provide a direct link between central Oxford, and central London. Visit the Oxford Tube website (24/7 bus service).

These journey takes approx 100 minutes - longer during the rush hour.

Arriving by road

The M40 and M4 + A34 provide easy access by car from London, leaving the M40 at Junction 8. The M40 links Birmingham to Oxford from the north, leaving at Junction 9.

Parking in Oxford is limited so most day visitors take advantage of the Park and Ride service which was pioneered in Oxford. All five Park and Ride sites are clearly signposted from the Oxford Ring Road.

Arriving by train

A frequent direct train service operates from London Paddington to Oxford (approx every 30 minutes) and from Birmingham New Street via Banbury and Coventry.

There is also a regular service between Oxford and London Marylebone via Oxford Parkway and Bicester. Visit the Chiltern Railways website for more details.

Arriving by air

London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports are linked by Oxford Bus Company’s Airline service which operates 24/7. You can also prebook taxi to arrive in Oxford.

London Stansted and Luton airports are linked by the National Express 737 bus service (can be as long as 3 hours), and hence we advise you to take taxi to save time.

Birmingham airport is connected by train to Oxford with regular fast services available every hour. Visit the National Rail Enquiries website for timetables and fares.
